Greenfield IN
Ham radio Contest Site

Indianapoli Radio Club Review:

Date: 31 DEC 2003

If you are the least bit interested in working Ham radio DX stations;
but have doubts about your experience or financial capabilities, then spend an hour with

Gary Stouder - K9SG and Hank Wolfla - K9LZJ.

These two amateur radio operators have put together a very impressive
Contest station located in the rural Greenfield Indiana area by combining their resources.

They have assembled the dream come true ham operators station that boast 2 operating
positions complete with computer logging stations and radio gear that covers 160 meters

to 1.2 Ghz Ham bands.

When I first approached
the outside of the station,
situated on about 5 acres
of farm land, immediately
I noticed the 100 foot tower
supporting three (3) large
HF beams, 3 vhf/uhf beams
and a microwave dish.

That’s just one of  4 antenna systems. One of the beams is a StepIR 20 meter to 6 meter 4 element beam.

Entry into the Ham shack displayed a modest but highly functional two-position operators console;
one of the radios was a Icom IC 756pro transceiver.

Gary and Hank have spent many long hours both building
their dream ham station and sharing the operating pleasures
of this outstanding ham shack.

If you are interested in more details contact either of them
on the Indianapolis 442.65 repeater system
